We've decided to call this sweet mare Ivy. She has the kindest eyes ever.
We have rebred Ivy to Secretly Regal for a 2011 foal. We are keeping
our fingers crossed for a lovely buckskin baby. I recently did some
calculation to get an idea of how much blood each of our horses carry. Here
are my results for Ivy. National Foundation Quarter Horse Assoc. 84.5%

1992 APHA Bay Roan Tobiano
Maple is a Texas ranch bred mare we bought in 2006. She has the conformation and heavy
bone of a solid working horse. As an added bonus she has a true natural western lope and
she can jump 4' from a stand still. We were very pleased with both her fillies from Regal
and now look forward to a 2011 foal from our Homozygous Tobiano stallion, Designated MVP.
I recently calculated this mare's foundation blood as well. She is 91.6% foundation blood
according the Foundation Horse Registry rules. We really like this mare and expect great
things in the future.

Maple foaled on 4/4/2011. She gave us a handsome Bay Roan Tovero colt.
We call him Calvin. He is fully registered with APHA - Designed Two Win M.

She is willing and sensible. She is an awesome trail horse
and even be a show horse in time. We took Josie on a couple of trail rides recently.
We were very pleased with her willingness and her overall fantastic behavior. Josie has
earned the right to a permanant home due her pleasant attitude and willingness to
learn. It seems we have once again found a diamond in the rough. I recently
returned from one of my trips to the Farm. I had the great pleasure of putting
some time on Josie. She was quite willing to ride out alone or with a buddy
and is naturally balanced at all 3 gaits. I was greatly
surprised when I calculated her foundation blood considering the amount
of racing blood her pedigree carries. Her foundation percentage according to
FHR rules is a whopping 98.4%.

We purchased Nelly along with her Mother sight unseen just for their pedigrees
basically.We are very pleased with the mares themselves. Poor Nelly seems to
have had a bad run-in with humans somewhere and now has some serious trust
issues we are working on. We are happy to say she is coming around nicely.
Nelly is in foal to Secretly Regal for a 2011 foal. We think this will be
an awesome combination.
Nellie's foundation percentage I calculated as 95.8% according to the
Foundation Horse Registry rules. No wonder she produces such nice foals.
We would consider selling Nellie to the perfect home ONLY. If she appeals to you

We call this mare Slinky since she is built like a block house. She is short and
square with some of the most comfortable gaits around. Her temperament is true
to her breeding. She is laid back and has slow moving strides. This is another
mare we use regularly for our various lesson programs. She can be counted on to
be steady as a rock. We have ridden her extensively on trails. She is not at all
spooky and is sure footed.

We're calling this very soft and sweet mare Sophie. Emily has
decided that Sophie is her horse and I think Sophie agrees. Emily is very
oppinionated concerning "HER" Sophie. There is no doubt in her mind that there
is NO horse better than Sophie and nothing is too good for Sophie. Emily also
doesn't share well when it comes to Sophie. It seems she is the only one allowed
to work or ride her. So the question is: How do you convince a little kid that
you're just trying to help?  Jeeze, she sounds like me as a kid.

My Cherokee Rose
Rosie is a small pony standing at just under 11.2 hands.
Emily and Rosie get along great They go everywhere and lots together like trail
riding, jumping, roping, and anything else they can think of. Rosie is very obviously
a Welsh of some percentage. She has the lovely dished face and wonderful
temperament of the Welsh breed. We would love to know more about this
fantastic little mare. If anyone knows ANYTHING about her please let us know.
Rosie was foaled about 8 years ago(2003) is a Sorrel and White Sabino Pinto mare.
We got her from NW South Carolina. She has had at least one foal possibly a mini
mule.

Regal Serenity
2010 Bay AQHA
Barbie is an awesome young mare. She has been through soooo much in short
life already. Just after weaning Barbie got her left rear leg caught in the electric
fence. Fortunately for her she did this while we were watching and could get
to her quickly. Unfortunately we weren't fast enough. In less than ONE minute
Barbie completely severed her Extensor Tendon. This happened in Oct 2010.
Her prognosis was good but cautious. Six months stall rest with daily bandage
changes was first prescribed. She could move the leg forward as long as it
was wrapped at this point. In just Eight short weeks she was healed enough
she could the leg forward unwrapped and was released to hand walking the barn
aisleway. By the end of January 2011 Barbie was cleared for 30 minutes hand
grazing. The first week of March was a fantastic time. Barbie could finally be
turned out for short periods in a small paddock. She still had a small open wound
that needed daily bandage changes but was otherwise WAY ahead of
schedule. As of Mid-June 2011 Barbie is back to full turnout with her age
mates. She is very sound moving forwards or backwards. Moving sideways
causes her to short step a pace or two then she moves fine. The wound is now
closed although the skin is very fragile yet. There seems to VERY little scarring
and there is hair on all of it.
Barbie has continued to grow and thrive through all of the recovery. Our vet is
sure we've been feeding her fertilizer. At a year old she stands 14.0 hands
and is getting ready for another growth spurt. This filly never had a down day.
She was and is always sure she can do whatever she puts her mind to.
When Barbie was born I was sure she was destined to be Emily's Youth
All-Around horse. I was just as sure that dream died the day of Barbie's
injury. I think Barbie has taught me to have more Faith and Patience in our
horses....especially the young ones.
Barbie was measured in the beginning of July. At the withers she was 14.1 hands
and at the rump she was 14.2 hands. She has been measured again at the beginning
of September 2011 and now stands 14.2 hands at the withers and a full 15.0 hands
at the rump.
Our vet has cleared Barbie for ground work to begin her under saddle training.
She is right on the same schedule as if she was never hurt.

SAD DAY 4/11/08
We lost our beloved Roo to unknown causes. We will sorely miss this wonderful
mare. She was truly a grand lady. So until we meet on the otherside of this we
bid you a fond and heartfelt farewell.
RIP
Roo was our TB mare but she looked and acted more like a QH. Roo was a home
bred mare and never raced. Working just didn't suit her Diva status. Roo was
shown Hunter/Jumper, Dressage, and even Team Penning. She could be idle in
the pasture for years at time and still ride just like the last time she was ridden.
