About UsWe are a small breeding and showing operation in the foothills of North Carolina with a small satelite farm in northeast Florida. Our North Carolina facility is on 23+ acres. All of our horses have been chosen not only for their conformation and pedigree but also for their temperament and athleticism. Our foals have enjoyed great success in recent years in several different disciplines of competition from Halter and Longe line to the Open Jumpers. Barefoot Farms may be small but we are certainly dedicated to improving the quality of horses available. Boarding We are very proud of our facility. The barn currently has 8 spacious 12' x 14' stalls with mats plus we've added 3 12 x 12 stalls facing the arena. Each inside stall has an individual light and fan that can be controlled with a centrally located switch and timer. We have 2 stalls with video cameras for horses requiring around-the-clock monitoring. The barn also has an extra large 16' wide concrete aisle way for ease of movement. There is both a tack room and a separate feed room. We have an outside concrete wash rack that is enclosed and has hot and cold water. The wash rack has spray boom so there is no hose to get tangled in. There is a small bathroom and refrigerator for the barns use. We currently have 4 improved pastures of varying sizes. We have recently added a round pen and the conditioning track. The 90' x 180' riding arena is now finished with a round pen also available. A lovely gazebo makes a wonderful lounge area for boarders. The on property wooded trails are on the list for marking and clearing this summer. There are extensive trails for riding just down the street. All normal full board services are included in our monthly rate with additional services available by request. Pasture board is also available. Medical lay-ups are our speciality. Around-the-clock care is available from highly experienced horsepeople with extensive medical knowledge. Short term or even just overnight boarders are welcome as well. Stallions are also welcome, we know just how hard it can be to find a place willing to take a stallion no matter how well behaved. Our owner is a Registered Nurse with more than 25 years experience and a lifetime working with horses. Our owner and barn manager are both in the barn on a daily basis so things run as smoothly as possible. | |
LessonsLessons are available at each of our locations. We specialize in beginners and first time lesson takers. We can take new riders from the very beginning to advanced showing. Safety is stressed in all our lesson programs whether you showing at the Regionals, just learning the basics, or you're doing physical therapy. You may take a lesson on your horse or ours or both! We have rock steady physical therapy mounts to National level show horses. Our lessons constantly change to keep up with the progress of our clients. Children, teens, and adults are welcome to try our programs where mistakes are viewed as part of the learning process. We don't talk down to anyone and we certainly don't expect you to know everything about horses and riding. We like to make our lessons fun with a relaxed attitude.Our 90 x 180 arena is available to rent for general use at a reasonable rate. Get those youngsters out, practice for a show, take a lesson, or maybe even form a drill team. We are also happy to host Birthday parties. Kids and adults LOVE our activites. We have a lovely gazebo to center around. Facilities available for the Do-it-yourself party all the way to catered events.
